We know that Hogwarts Legacy is receiving a lot of attention to detail thanks to the title’s in-depth State of Play on March 17. Among the many features present are the ghosts who walk around Hogwarts and interact with the player.
Who is Nearly Headless Nick in Hogwarts Legacy?
One of the ghosts is Nearly Headless Nick, who appears in the trailer. Nearly Headless Nick is Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington, a member of the Gryffindor House. His head was nearly severed in an improper decapitation on Oct. 31, 1492.
Nearly Headless Nick became a ghost of Gryffindor Tower at Hogwarts after he was executed for making a woman grow tusks by accident. The trailer shows him discussing Sir Patrick’s Headless Hunt with the player.
The next ghost seen in the trailer is a professor, but ten seconds later, the same professor can be seen with a full body. It may be a spell, or it may be a lookalike. Even so, it’s easy to see ghosts take an active role in the game, and they can be interacted with.
We’ve seen Nearly Headless Nick from the Harry Potter movies in this trailer, but we’re still waiting on other familiars, like the Bloody Baron.
Roman Ungern von Sternberg, also known as The Bloody Baron, was a Slytherin who died in the 11th century. During his lifetime, he fell in love with Helena Ravenclaw, but the love was not reciprocated. Due to Sternberg’s status as a House ghost, players sorted into Slytherin should be able to interact with him, like Nearly Headless Nick.
