It has been over a month since the successful release of Disney Dreamlight Valley, and the initial Pixar Fest is coming to a close, with a new Star Path soon taking its place. Those who have been playing since the launch are likely aware of what the Star Path is. However, some newcomers might be confused as to what purpose it serves or how its reward mechanics work. This perplexing mystery in Disney Dreamlight Valley can be cleared by comparing the Star Path to a system found in many mobile and live-service titles known as the “season pass” or “battle pass” for competitive PvP games.
The Star Path System in Disney Dreamlight Valley
The Star Path in Disney Dreamlight Valley is a monthly task-based system that gives players random Duties in exchange for points. These points can then be exchanged in the Star Path Track for free cosmetic rewards. The tasks in this system function very similarly to the Dreamlight Duties players receive during their playthrough.
Disney Dreamlight Valley: How to Complete With Great Power Quest
For further clarification, Gameloft’s official Support page states that the “Star Path is a season-based mission system inspired by the idea of a “Battle Pass” used to reward players for completing various missions and tasks during an in-game season.” These tasks include missions like “Pick up 0/100 Fruits,” “Catch Fish 0/10,” or “Give Favorite Gifts 0/12.” The more challenging a Duty is, the higher number of Star Path points it will grant participants.
Additionally, there are two tracks for earning rewards in a seasonal Star Path in Disney Dreamlight Valley. The Standard Star Path Track offers a host of free cosmetics, such as Clothing, Companions, or Furniture Sets. On the other hand, the Premium Star Path Track is unlocked using premium Moonstone currency, offering many more exclusive rewards than the standard track. This track also includes Moonstone rewards, allowing players to earn back some of what they spent. Finally, Dreamers can spend Moonstones to unlock more rewards without completing Duties, but this practice is only recommended for those who do not have time to participate for the entire duration of the Season Pass in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Disney Dreamlight Valley is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
