With the massive success of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and the Warzone battle royale mode, many people are viewing the last year as something of a return to form for Activision’s long-running shooter series. Now, all eyes are turning hungrily towards the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War to hopefully keep standards high.
If you desperately want to get into the game as soon as possible, you may be wondering when the beta for the game will begin. Thanks to leaked images, and information from the Call of Duty: World War II in-game store that probably shouldn’t be visible, it would seem that the beta will begin on October 8. The only caveat here is that this would appear to be the start date on PlayStation 4, which will get access to the beta before other platforms.
At the moment, there is no information on when the beta will launch on other platforms, or how long the PlayStation 4 beta will run for. It is probably a good idea to prepare yourself for more “advantages” for folks who play on Sony’s platform. We will be updating this article with further beta date information as soon as it is revealed.
Black Ops Cold War is a direct sequel to Black Ops and will feature returning characters Wood, Mason, and Hudson as they travel the world to take on a new shadowy threat.
The game is launching at an odd time, as we go from one generation of hardware to the next, and comes with a complicated number of versions. We have a full breakdown of all these versions and what exactly you get for your money if you are looking to make an informed decision.
