Work Energy is a resource in Lost Ark that is used for gathering materials and items via Trade Skills. Trade Skills are gained around the time that you undertake the Crown of Lakebar main story quest.

In tooltips, skill descriptions, and item descriptions in-game, Work Energy is sometimes referred to as Life Energy. These are the same thing.

Work Energy has a total pool of 10,000 at base but can be increased by raising your Roster Level. This pool is shared by all characters on a specific server, but so are the levels of your Trade Skills.

There are six different Trade Skills in the game that you can gather materials with and each consumes a different amount of Work Energy every time you gather materials:

  • ForagingForagable spots appear as green leaves on your minimap. Costs 30 energy at base.LoggingLogging spots appear as logs on your minimap. Costs 60 energy at base.MiningMinable spots appear as blue crystals on your minimap. Costs 30 energy at base.HuntingAreas with huntable animals are marked by a bear trap symbol in the upper left of your map. Costs 84 energy at base only when you carve an animal.FishingFishing spots are noted by fishing hooks on your map or minimap. You cannot fish anywhere without this mark. Costs 44 energy at base.ExcavatingAreas with excavatable relics are marked by a stone tablet symbol in the upper right of your map. Costs 62 energy at base only when you dig up a relic.

How much Work Energy is restored per day?

30 Work Energy is restored every ten minutes at base. That means that you will restore 180 Work Energy in an hour and 4,320 Work Energy across 24 hours.

  • Foragable spots appear as green leaves on your minimap. Costs 30 energy at base.

  • Logging spots appear as logs on your minimap. Costs 60 energy at base.

  • Minable spots appear as blue crystals on your minimap. Costs 30 energy at base.

  • Areas with huntable animals are marked by a bear trap symbol in the upper left of your map. Costs 84 energy at base only when you carve an animal.

  • Fishing spots are noted by fishing hooks on your map or minimap. You cannot fish anywhere without this mark. Costs 44 energy at base.

  • Areas with excavatable relics are marked by a stone tablet symbol in the upper right of your map. Costs 62 energy at base only when you dig up a relic.

There are alternatives to waiting for your Work Energy to restore, however. There are various consumable items that will restore Work Energy to the player. These items are:
