God of War Ragnarök, like any other RPG, would not be complete without its side quests. In this game, they are called Favors. They usually involve Kratos and his son, Atreus, doing something to right the wrongs Odin has inflicted on the races of the nine realms. Taking a break from the main quest and completing it is worth your time, as going off the beaten path tends to lead to great rewards in God of War Ragnarök.

What do you get for completing Favors in God of War Ragnarök?

Generally, all Favors will reward you with Experience points for both Kratos and Atreus. While this may not seem like much, Experience points are not really farmable in the game and are necessary to raise all of your Skills and Runic Attacks. Occasionally, you will receive extra rewards, like Nidavellir Ore from the In Service of Asgard Favor. This ore will allow you to craft the Nidavellir’s Armor set that can help you early on in the game.

How to access the Favor Menu in God of War Ragnarök

To see your current accepted Favors and their rewards, use the TouchPad to open the main menu, use R2 and L2 to navigate to the Goals Menu, then toggle down one to highlight Favors. You can also use this menu to view Favors you’ve already completed.
