Inscryption is a unique twist on the horror genre as it is also a deck builder. Players find themselves in a cabin with a strange figure and must discover a way to escape. Along the way, they will collect cards and build a powerful deck. But cards aren’t the only thing that players can collect along the way.

Another thing the player can collect is pelts. These discarded remains of animals will come in handy as the player progresses. There are different kinds of pelts including golden pelts. These can be given to the Trader in return for cards the player can add to their deck.

Different kinds of pelts have different values with golden pelts being the most valuable. Wolf pelts are better than rabbit pelts. There are multiple ways to get pelts but the most common way is to purchase them from the Trapper who can be encountered at the bear trap-looking symbols on the map.

While pelts appear useless in combat, they can act as shields in desperate times. Pelts require no sacrifices or bones to play so they can be great ways to stall or block an opposing card’s attack. Each type of pelt has a different health value with golden pelts having the most.
