The next installment of the Total War Saga will be traveling to ancient Greece to cover Troy’s story, drawing inspiration from Homer’s Illiad. The usual mix of real-time and grand strategy will return as you try to carve out your own kingdom in a world on the brink of all-out war.
Total War Saga: Troy is due to release on Epic Games Store on Aug. 13. For the first 24 hours that the game is available, you will be able to claim it for free, so make sure you snap it early. The game is due to have a Steam release, but not until some time in 2021. The game has a one-year-long exclusivity with the Epic Game Store, so it will arrive on Steam sometime after Aug. 13, 2021.
In Total War Saga: Troy, you will be able to play as one of eight different heroes from Greek history and legend. The game also promises a character-driven narrative, and the usual mix of diplomacy, statecraft, and war that the Total War series is known for.
The title is sure to be an interesting one, as it seeks to blend historical influence with the more fantastical elements. You will be able to command troops inspired by creatures like The Minotaur, the Cyclops, and Centaurs.
Unfortunately, it has been confirmed that the game will not support crossplay between Steam and Epic Game Store, which is a shame that will result in a divided community.
