We’re starting to wind down on Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 3! The water has receded and the full map has been exposed. Aquaman has rode around on sharks, and has fought with one of his arch-enemies. We have even started to show signs of what might be to come for the big event that will be occurring at the climax of Season 3! So, naturally the thought becomes, when is Fortnite Season 4 going to be released?

Fortnite Season 4 is currently scheduled to come out on August 27th, 2020. We have had no indication that the season will be extended at the moment, and all things seem to be on track at the moment for a standard release.

While things appear to be going smoothly at the moment, that doesn’t mean there won’t be delays. Epic has been pretty notorious for stretching out seasons due to issues they’ve come across with future updates. Season 4 might not be as complicate as Season 3, with the huge changes to the map due to the water and the addition of cars to the game. Those were likely massive undertakings, so I’m not surprised that they would have had to push things out further due to potential complications.

There was always one nice thing about season extensions though, and that was the fact that we would usually get Overtime challenges. These would give us a chance to earn a lot more XP throughout the season, and would give us some pretty awesome styles for our battle pass skins! Season 2 was extended multiple times and we didn’t get these, so the days of the Overtime challenge might be over.
