Yesterday Nintendo announced they were going to hold a Nintendo Direct tomorrow and show the games they plan to release in Winter. In this 40 minutes long press conference, many new games, including the second installment of Octopath Traveler, were announced. When is Octopath Traveler 2 Coming Out?
Octopath Traveler 2 was announced today at Nintendo Direct. The trailer showed that Octopath Traveler 2 will be coming out on 24th February 2023, exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
The first game of Octopath Traveler came out in 2018 for Nintendo Switch. But later on, it came for PC, Xbox consoles, and Stadia as well. This might also be the scenario for the second installment of this lovely series.
There was also a prequel game called Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent that was released in 2020 in Japan. After it gained popularity, Square Enix published it for the rest of the world in 2022.
This game will nothing to do with the previous installment. The trailer showed that Octopath Traveler 2 is focusing on 8 new characters and a whole new era. This era is modern compared to the previous game, and it seems it is happening somewhere between the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
