Pokémon Legends: Arceus sets itself apart from other entries to the series in quite a few ways, one of which is that you’re no longer able to breed Pokémon to obtain their baby forms. Fortunately, many of these adorable mini-monsters are wandering around the Hisuian wilderness, just waiting to be caught. If you’re looking to add one to your Pokédex, you can find a great place to start in the Obsidian Fields—Snorlax’s pre-evolution, Munchlax.

Finding Munchlax

Munchlax can be found wandering the Deertrack Path area, primarily in two locations near the Obsidian Fields Heights Camp. They can appear during the day or night and in any kind of weather, though they’re a bit rarer than other Pokémon in the area. If you happen to have some trouble finding any Munchlax of your own, you can head over to the nearby Heights Camp and take a rest. This will reset the Pokémon in the area, speeding up the respawn process.

Catching Munchlax

While many baby Pokémon will run away once they’ve spotted you, Munchlax tends to be a little bit more relaxed in nature. These joyful little gluttons can be easily distracted with almost any food, making them much easier to catch, so be sure to bring plenty of berries and honey. Some may even walk right up to you after being fed, giving you plenty of time to aim your Poké Balls without any pressure.

Munchlax is one of the easiest types of baby Pokémon types you can catch early on in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, making them the perfect place to start your collection. Additionaly, these laid-back little dudes will eventually evolve into the behemoth Snorlax, adding a fearsome amount of power to your team!
