Nothing beats getting free stuff, and us trainers are no different. So when NPCs in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl offer us a rare Pokémon that would have been difficult to find in the wild, we take it. There are quite a number of these gifted Pokémon in the Sinnoh remakes, so we’ll help you find all of them.

1. Abra

Abra can be traded for a Machop in Oreburgh City. Enter the house left of the Poké Mart and speak to the little girl with brown hair.

2. Mew and Jirachi

Mew and Jirachi can be received from the Old Couple in Floaroma Town. The lady gives you Mew if you have a Pokémon Lets Go saved data in your Nintendo Switch, while the man gives you Jirachi if you have a Pokémon Sword or Shield save.

3. Chatot

Chatot can be traded for a Buizel in Eterna City. Enter the Eterna Condomonims (located beside the Poké Mart) and speak to the little girl sitting at the upper table of the first floor.

4. Happiny

Once you enter Hearthome City, talk to the hiker standing beside the Route 209 sign (located in the east). He will give you a Happiny egg.

5. Haunter

Haunter can be traded for a Medicham in Snowpoint City. Enter the house northwest of the gym and speak to the blonde woman. The Haunter is holding an Everstone, so it won’t evolve into a Gengar.

6. Magikarp

Magikarp can be traded for a Finneon in Route 226. Exit the Survival Area to the east and Surf to the house in the middle of the lake. Speak to the hiker.

7. Riolu

Riley will give you a Riolu egg once you finish the escort story to Iron Island. To trigger it, you need to speak to the sailor in Canalave City.

8. Eevee

After you’ve seen all 150 Pokémon in Sinnoh and obtained the National Pokédex from Prof. Rowan, visit Bebe in Hearthome City. Her house is located to the right of the Pokémon Center. She will give you an Eevee.

9. Manaphy

If you pre-ordered Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, you can receive a Manaphy egg via Mystery Gift on your menu.

10. Darkrai

Open your Mystery Gift menu during a day where there is a real-life full moon to receive the Member Card item. Once you have it, go to Canalave City and enter the previously locked inn. A short event will take you to Newmoon Island, where Darkrai can be found. You have to obtain the National Pokédex before you can travel to Newmoon Island.

11. Arceus

To get the god of Pokémon, first have a Pokémon Legends: Arceus save data on your Nintendo Switch with all main missions completed. Once you do, open Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl, head back to your room in Twinleaf Town, and the Azure Flute should appear. With the Azure Flute in hand, travel back to the Spear Pillar on the top of Mount Coronet and Arceus will reveal itself.

Note that you also need to have a National Pokédex with you for Arceus to appear.
