Bagon is a Dragon-type Pokemon first introduced in Hoenn. It evolves into Shelgon at level 30 and later on into the mighty Salamence at level 50. If you’re a trainer looking to add Bagon to your roster, here’s where to find Bagon in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.

How to catch Bagon in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

The earliest you can encounter Bagon is in a cave somewhere on these cliffs near Alfornada. These Bagons will be around level 16 to 20. You don’t need to enter the cave leading to Alfornada (this is the one with Pokémon above level 30).

From Contondo, travel Southwest until you see a bridge leading to West Province (Area One). From the gas stop West Province (Area One) Pokémon Center, travel North. Allow yourself to fall to the eastmost piece of dry land and travel your way back up. You should naturally pass through a cave full of Bagons and Gibles. They’re not the “rare” Pokémon the Pokédex says they are in these parts!

Bagons are born with an ability called Rock Head. This prevents this species from taking any recoil damage. But once it evolves in Salamence, Rock Head will change to Intimidate, which lowers the opposing Pokémon’s attack when they’re sent out. Intimidate and Salamence’s great type (Dragon/Flying) make it a top pick for Victory Road. With the right nature and moveset, you can even take it to PvP and win a couple of battles.

However, if you want to know Bagon’s habitat profile, here it is:
