In Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Dunsparce is finally given a second form. Although the Johto Normal-type can be found quickly in the Paldea region, you will need to use a special method to trigger its evolution into Dudunsparce.

Where to find Dunsprace in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

You will not have to wait long to encounter a Dunsparce in Paldea, as the Normal-type actually spawns all over the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet map. However, the quickest way to find Dunsparce is to take the Mesagoza West Gate exit from the school and explore the South Province area. Dunsparce spawns in South Province (Area Two), and South Province (Area Four) starting at level 17. Once arriving at these locations, press the Y button to pull your radar. If Dunsparce doesn’t appear on your mini-map, continue to run around until it does. The Gen 2 Pokémon is a rare spawn though, so it might take a while. Once you see it on the map, quickly throw your Poké Ball at the Normal-type using the ZR button, as it will retreat underground and disappear.

What is Dunsparce’s evolution in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Dunsparce evolves into Dudunsparce in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. The new form is basically a larger version of the snake Pokémon with added chains to its body and spikes on its chin. If you caught Dunsparce early in the game, you will need to level it up a bit to reach its second form, as its evolution is dependent on a specific move. Below is an explanation of the method that will trigger Dunsparce into its Dudunsparce evolution.

How to evolve Dunsparce into Dudunsparce in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Dunsparce evolves at level 32 after it’s learned Hyper Drill. To get the required move you will need to train up your Dunsparce to at least level 30. When asked to learn the attack, select yes and have it replace an older move. With Hyper Drill now equipped, you will only need to train it up two levels to trigger its transformation into Dudunsparce automatically. For more information on Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, check out How to find Greavard and evolve it into Houndstone in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet here on Pro Game Guides.
